Its going to be a White Ester as Winter's fightback is set to continue throughout the week,as Britain prepares itself for freezing temperatures and dangerous ice,Power cuts and travel disruption continue to blight Britain today, as parts of the country saw flurries of snow on another bitterly cold day.
But as the cold winds caused deep drifts in areas where several feet of snow fell earlier in the weekend, forecasters have warned of the risk of ice as lying snow melts on roads and pavements and refreezes by night.
They are still yellow 'be aware' weather alerts in place sweeping from south-east England up to southern Scotland, covering Northern Ireland and north-east Wales.
And the snow and ice, which has been causing continuing problems on the nation's transport network today, is expected to continue until after Easter, with temperatures dropping to -5C ,Up to an inch of snow fell across eastern Scotland and central parts of England, the Midlands, East Anglia and Lincolnshire overnight
