Teenager Jailed For Posting Lyrics On The Boston Marathon Bombings On His Facebook Page

18-year-old rapper who was locked up after referencing the Boston Marathon bombing in lyrics he posted to Facebook was finally released yesterday after spending a month with the Grand Jury declining to indict him.

Methuen High School senior Cameron D’Ambrosio was charged with making terrorist threats last April after one of his school mates told an administrator that Cameron had posted a status update with “disturbing verbiage.” The school contacted the local police, who tracked down Cameron and took him into custody on May 1st.

See below the status update that got him into all this trouble.

Police then obtained a search warrant for Cameron’s home where they went onto his computer and found no evidence supporting the claim that he had any violent intentions whatsoever.

D’Ambrosio was still, however, not cleared for release. He was even denied a bail request from a Massachusetts Superior Court judge.

It was at this point when a Massachusetts-based nonprofit group called the Center for the Rights struck up a petition protesting the charges against D’Ambrosio.

After attaining 90,000 signatures and viral internet status, a Grand Jury let Cameron go free.
