It was a big night for two of the top Hip-hop artistes right now Kendrick Lamar and Drake as the rappers turned out the biggest winners at the 2013 BET Awards.
While K.Dot walked away with the awards for ‘Best Male Hip Hop Artist‘ and ‘Best New Artist‘, Drizzy picked the ‘Viewers’ Choice Award‘ and ‘Video of the Year‘ for his ‘Started from the bottom’ video. Both acts then shared an award for A$AP Rocky‘s ‘F***in’ Problems‘ which won ‘Best Collaboration’.
Another top winner was Chris Brown who walked away with two awards including the ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist‘. Actors Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington were given the Best Actor and Best Actress awards respectively, obviously for their roles in the movie ‘Django‘ and Charlie Wilson, Lifetime Achievement Award.
Nigerian rapper Ice Prince had beaten five other African stars to win the ‘Best African Act‘ prize.
There were performances from Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Justin Timberlake, Mariah Carey, Erykah Badu, Stevie Wonder, Kendrick Lamar and more.
