Featuring 13 of their greatest hits and the new single "Meant To Be," the latest LP is just the beginning of TLC's return after a more than 20-year hiatus. Come 2014, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas plan on releasing an entirely new album in which they've enlisted the help of a certain someone who played a key part in launching their careers
"We're back signed with L.A. Reid at Epic, and we're bringing LaFace back! Booyah," T-Boz told MTV News. LaFace was formed as a joint venture between record producers Antonio "L.A." Reid and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, and was not only responsible for TLC but other acts such as Pink, Usher and CeeLo Green as well. While the label has been rebooted in several different capacities, it was most active during the 1990s.
Another heavy-hitter who might be joining forces with the group is Lady Gaga. She co-wrote "Posh Life," a potential release off the upcoming album — "It's pretty high up there on the list," T-Boz said — and back in August, TLC hinted that the Mother Monster would also be down to lend her vocals to the track.
Of course, the one thing missing from the next chapter in this story is Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez. The group's third member died in a car crash back in 2002. And while the MC isn't present for their current-day accomplishments, the duo is confident she'd be happy.
"Lisa is the type of person, she thought any press, good or bad, was good press. It could be a lie," T-Boz explained. "We didn't think so, but she didn't care. She'd be like, 'Yeah, it ended up on TV'! But hey, she would be proud looking down like 'Y'all keeping it going, we're going to ride it until the wheels come off' and that's what we're doing. That's what she would want. She wasn't a quitter like that so she would probably want to keep going."
