Aaron Ramsey's Extra-Time Strike Ends Nine-Year Trophy Wait For Arsenal As They Win The FA Cup Final At Wembley

Arsenal ended their torturous nine-year wait for silverware with a breathtaking comeback against Hull City in the FA Cup final at Wembley. The Tigers stunned the expectant Gunners supporters, astonishingly taking a two-goal lead within eight minutes, but Arsene Wenger's side eventually clicked into gear, with Aaron Ramsey the eventual hero in extra time.

James Chester had ingeniously flicked the underdogs ahead in the second minute, pouncing on an effort from outside the box when unmarked.

The lapse defending didn't end either. Arsenal were slow to react at another set piece, allowing Curtis Davies to prod in.

Wembley was stunned into silence - one half of it at least - until Santi Cazorla's sumptuous free-kick halved the arrears

From then on it looked as if it was Arsenal's to lose, although it took until the 71st minute for them to finally equalise - a brave Laurent Koscielny beating Allan McGregor to a loose ball.

Arsenal heads were in hands when Kieran Gibbs blazed over from a matter of yards and Oliver Giroud had an effort beaten away as extra time loomed.

The Frenchman crashed a header against the bar shortly after the restart as the Londoners piled on the pressure.

Aaron Ramsey flashed an effort wide as the sides went into half-time in extra time still level.
It was left to the mercurial Welshman to settle the final as he got on the end of Sanogo's ball to smash home.
