Hyphen Seeks Employment

Jay Z’s now unemployed hyphen is seeking employment. The hyphen that used to join the Jay to Z in his name was recently dropped last week and is now looking for a job on popular site, Craigslist.

The hyphen’s add reads, “Hardworking SBL (Straight Black Line) seeks immediate, full or part-time employment having been recently laid off by my previous employer after 19 years of devoted service,” and it includes “joining two or more words serving as a single adjective before a noun (“dead-end job”), ‘preventing confusion or awkward combinations of letters (“He forced me to resign” vs. “He refused to re-sign me for another year”), dividing words between syllables at the end of a line of text (des-per-ate, un-em-ployed), and some Photoshop” under its list of skills.
